Job Summary:

A shift lead is in charge of providing direct supervision to the Squad Members independently along with the management team at Smalls. Shift Leads are expected to work in a fast-paced environment, perform a variety of tests, and maintain a positive attitude while interacting with guest and other Squad Members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploying squad members based on pre-determined shift schedules
  • Monitoring attendance and tardiness during shift
  • Assigning duties to specific employees based on role and skills
  • Supervising employees and assisting with tasks as necessary
  • Assist with training new and current Squad Members on tasks
  • Handling or escalating customer issues and managing conflicts
  • Adhering to company policies and health, safety and employment standards
  • Balancing cash drawers and preparing cash deposits
  • Maintaining the overall cleanliness and safety of the Can
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Job Qualifications:

  • Experience running shifts in fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate duties and expectations effectively
  • Guest concern resolution experience a plus
  • Experience training a plus
  • Cash handling/management skills
  • Acquire or already have a Manager food safety card within 30 days of employment
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be over the age of 18
  • Previous experience in customer service or food service
  • No formal education required (High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory).

Working Conditions:

  • Requires standing for extended periods, lifting moderate to heavy items, and working in hot and fast-paced environment.
  • Uniform and proper hygiene standards must be maintained at all times.
