- Produced 100 podcast episodes featuring legendary Sonics players, coaches, and voices
- Built a highly engaged social audience of 25,000 followers, including rapid growth on Instagram
- Generated tens of millions of views across platforms
- Become a leading voice in the movement to bring the Sonics back to Seattle
With NBA expansion conversations heating up, Iconic Sonics is entering its next phase of growth—expanding aggressively into short-form video and new platforms.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Social Media & Content Associate (Intern) to help us scale our presence especially on TikTok and YouTube, while supporting content organization and day-to-day social execution.
This is a hands-on role for someone who wants real experience building a sports media brand from the inside—working directly with experienced producers, athletes, and storytellers.
What You’ll Do
Content Creation & Platform Growth
- Help launch and grow Iconic Sonics on TikTok
- Support development of YouTube Shorts and long-form content
- Identify and clip compelling moments from podcast episodes and archival footage
- Assist in developing repeatable content formats (highlights, storytelling, nostalgia-driven posts)
Content Management & Organization
- Help organize and tag a growing library of video content (100 episodes and counting)
- Maintain a structured content pipeline for social distribution
- Assist in planning weekly posting calendars across platforms
Editing & Creative Support
- Edit short-form video clips for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
- Add captions, hooks, and basic motion graphics to improve performance
- Assist with simple graphic design needs (thumbnails, social posts, etc.)
What We’re Looking For
Core Skills
- Strong interest in sports, storytelling, and digital media
- Familiarity with TikTok and YouTube (either as a creator or heavy user)
- Understanding of what makes content engaging in short-form video
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks
Preferred
- Basic video editing experience (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, etc.)
- Simple graphic design skills (Canva, Photoshop, etc.)
- Knowledge of Seattle sports and/or NBA history
