Logistics Analyst I
Location: Houston, TX 77002
Pay Rate: $30/hr
Duration: Contract-to-Hire

Position Summary
We are seeking a Logistics Analyst I to support transportation and logistics operations for capital projects, field engineering, operations, and maintenance activities. This role is responsible for coordinating freight movements, managing carrier relationships, expediting shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting project teams through the successful delivery of materials and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, logistics experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate transportation and expediting services for capital projects, field engineering, operations, and maintenance activities.
- Manage permit loads and ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
- Determine shipping methods based on routes, costs, schedules, and shipment requirements.
- Ensure compliance with TSA, DOT, Customs, and other applicable transportation regulations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation to support timely deliveries.
- Collaborate with suppliers to obtain freight dimensions, weights, and shipping requirements.
- Select transportation carriers and negotiate freight rates and service agreements.
- Verify carrier insurance coverage and contractual compliance.
- Monitor shipments from carrier selection through final delivery.
- Coordinate communication between suppliers, carriers, third-party logistics providers, and internal project teams.
- Resolve delivery discrepancies and transportation issues.
- Maintain shipment records and logistics documentation.
- Support vendor selection and supplier management initiatives.
- Provide project status updates and shipment tracking information.
- Manage freight spend and participate in carrier performance reviews.
- Attend on-site loading and unloading operations as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1–6 years of logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, or supply chain experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- Experience with freight forwarding and transportation logistics.
- Experience negotiating carrier rates and transportation contracts.
- Knowledge of TSA, DOT, Customs, and shipping compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting capital projects, construction, energy, or industrial operations.
