Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) Locator to join our team. With multiple active markets across the Southeast and 100s of miles of projects to complete, this is an excellent opportunity for motivated professionals who are ready to take on consistent, long-term work. Extensive travel is required, as crews are deployed across a wide range of job sites.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately locating and marking underground utilities and structures to ensure safe and efficient drilling operations. The HDD Locator will work closely with project managers, drill operators, and other team members to facilitate successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced locating equipment to identify and mark underground utilities, including water, gas, and telecommunications lines.
- Collaborate with drilling crews to provide accurate and real-time guidance during drilling operations.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation of locating activities and findings.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all field activities.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings to assess project requirements and challenges.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training in HDD locating preferred.
- Proven experience in HDD locating or a related field.
- Proficient in using locating equipment and technology.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
