ICF is seeking a Junior Databricks Engineer to support a major data migration initiative with the Department of Transportation. This project involves transitioning from a legacy Oracle-based system to a modern data analytics platform, integrating dozens of data sources and thousands of reports. The role is critical to ensuring successful migration, pipeline development, and data governance implementation.
Job Location: This is a remote position, but all work must be performed within the United States.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$73,722.00 - $125,327.00

What You’ll Be Doing
- Support the migration of data from legacy Oracle systems to Databricks.
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Spark, Python, and SQL.
- Assist in setting up and managing Unity Catalog for data governance.
- Perform QA and validation of migrated datasets and reports.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure smooth integration and performance.
- Report to the Senior Data Engineer and contribute to cross-functional team efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience working with Databricks, Spark, Python, SQL, or Unity Catalog.
- Must be eligible for federal clearance and pass a background check.
- Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years
- Experience with Oracle databases and Oracle Business Intelligence.
- Familiarity with government data systems and compliance requirements.
- Exposure to large-scale data migration projects.
- Understanding of Agile techniques such as User Stories, TDD, BDD, CI/CD, and automated testing.
- Strong understanding of data engineering best practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
