Job Summary:
The Apparel Spec Specialist plays a key role in the product development process by creating and maintaining accurate technical specifications and garment measurement charts. This position ensures consistency in fit, construction, and quality across all styles while supporting cross-functional teams such as design, production, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:- Create and update detailed tech packs, including garment specs, construction details, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and graded measurement charts.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across all size specifications and style components.
- Collaborate closely with design and technical design teams to translate design intent into accurate technical documentation.
- Track and organize all sample comments, fit revisions, and approvals from initial proto through final production.
- Assist in the review of fit samples and production samples to ensure alignment with approved specs.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with overseas vendors or factories regarding spec corrections and sample development.
- Support quality assurance processes through spec verification and tolerances.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in an apparel spec, technical design, or product development role.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and sizing/grading.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Excel
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with overseas vendors is a plus.
