Position Summary
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in managing day-to-day accounting functions and driving improvements across our financial processes. This is a hands-on role responsible for month-end close, managing the general ledger, and maintaining accuracy in accounts payable, receivable, and payroll. This role requires thoughtful consideration of who needs information, what details are critical, and the optimal timing to support sound business decisions and collaboration.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and perform daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Manage and execute month-end close within 10 business days.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure timely reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy of data within QuickBooks and Royal4 systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and internal controls.
- Collaborate with operations teams to support business decisions with accurate financial data.
- Prepare reports as needed for internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel; familiarity with Royal4 is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-starter with a process-improvement mindset.
- Experience in cold storage, warehousing, or logistics is a plus.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), including Traction, is a plus.
