The Accounting Specialist will compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Efficiently process all vendor invoices accurately and timely for payment
- Check figures, posting and documents for correct entry and proper GL codes
- Daily morning reporting
- Add all new vendors
- Complete vendor credit applications
- Reconcile, research, and correct discrepancies on all vendor statements
- Manage and maintain 1099’s for year-end
- Assist with other projects as needed to support the accounting department
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- An associates degree is preferred, or a certificate related to accounting
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Experience is a plus but will train
- High degree of attention to detail
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Strong organizational skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Normal office environment with standard office hours
- Sitting and using computer screens for long periods of time
