Summary:
The primary purpose of position is to ensure that residents are provided with therapeutic social and cognitive entertainment as well as activities, trips and events.

The primary purpose of position is to ensure that residents are provided with therapeutic social and cognitive entertainment as well as activities, trips and events.
Responsibilities:
- Manages Recreation staff and ensures activities are being done on a daily basis.
- Reviews all activity calendars for completeness and ensures a variety of activities are planned.
- Actively participates, organizes, and monitors activities and events every week.
- Responsible for providing training and development to all Recreation staff such as how to encouraging participation, event planning, and initiating events.
- Plans and manages a comprehensive facility wide therapeutic recreation program.
- Must have experience running, developing/planning and implementing therapeutic programs, activities and events for seniors or physically/ mentally challenged adults in a clinical setting.
- Possess a Therapeutic Recreation Director certificate of completion
- Must be able to run, develop/plan and implement multiple events and programs and work with all disciplines in a challenging multi-cultural environment that target specific behavioral and/or patient groups as needed.
