Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Special Education Teacher based in Tinley Park, IL. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for creating and delivering individualized educational plans (IEPs) for students with unique learning needs. Tasks include developing lesson plans, instructing middle school students, adapting teaching methods for various abilities, assessing student progress, and collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic support. The teacher will also assist students in building life skills and social-emotional competencies.
Qualifications
- Experience and expertise in Special Education, Teaching, and working with Middle School-aged students
- Knowledge of various Disabilities and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Strong Communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and students
- State certification in Special Education or related field
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Familiarity with implementing and developing Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) is a plus
