What You’ll Do
In contributing to our success, the General Counsel will serve as the primary in-house legal counsel, overseeing a range of legal matters including contracts, compliance, commercial transactions, intellectual property, and regulatory issues. This role will work closely with executive leadership, operations, procurement, and sales to provide legal guidance that aligns with business objectives while minimizing risk. In providing incomparable legal counsel you will help drive our continual growth and legal compliance.
Job Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, sales agreements, distribution agreements, NDAs, and licensing deals.
- Advise leadership on corporate governance, legal risk, and compliance with federal, state, and international trade laws.
- Manage legal aspects of commercial relationships, including terms and conditions, warranties, indemnification, and liability issues.
- Provide counsel on intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Support due diligence and legal documentation for mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures, if applicable.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the business and ensure organizational compliance.
- Collaborate with external counsel as needed, managing legal budgets and project timelines.
- Assist with employment law issues in coordination with HR as needed.
Job Requirements
- MUST have a J.D. and license to practice law in New Jersey.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial transactions, and regulatory frameworks applicable to the consumer electronics and distribution sectors.
- Experience with import/export regulations, supply chain law, and international commercial agreements is a plus.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Business-oriented mindset with the ability to assess both legal and commercial risk.
