What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving lead position at IBP?
Full-time | Steady work | Room to move up |Pay: $25.00 an hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Oversee the loading/unloading of trucks and verify incoming/outgoing shipments
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper documentation and cycle counts
- Coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to resolve issues
- Train, mentor, and support warehouse staff
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and quality procedures
- Prepare shipping documents, labels, and freight paperwork
- Monitor workflow and recommend process improvements
Role Requirements:
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving or warehouse leadership
- Strong understanding of inventory control and logistics processes
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklift certification preferred)
- Solid computer skills (ERP/WMS experience a plus)
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work on your feet throughout the shift
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Physical Demands:
- This role requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling materials throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and move items up to 75 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
- Frequent use of hands and arms to operate warehouse tools and equipment
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
