Job Summary
We are a specialized, patient-focused GI practice/Endoscopy Center committed to providing high-quality care in a comfortable, outpatient setting. Our team is dedicated to delivering safe and efficient GI procedures, including colonoscopies and upper endoscopies, with an emphasis on excellence and compassion. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency during endoscopic procedures. This position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care during endoscopic procedures (colonoscopy, EGD, etc)
- Monitor patient status throughout the procedure, including vital signs and sedation response
- Collaborate with the physician and procedural team to ensure patient safety and procedural success
- Prepare procedure rooms with necessary equipment and supplies
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Perform basic life support and emergency interventions as needed.
- Document care accurately in accordance with regulatory standards
- Assist with equipment checks, scope handling, and troubleshooting as needed
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure Seamless patient transition
Experience
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Louisiana
- Familiarity with basic life support techniques and emergency response protocols.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of moderate sedation protocols and patient monitoring
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
