Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the survey department, including leading field and office teams.
- Oversee boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys; review survey data and coordinate geometry for accuracy.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and agencies; prepare and review proposals, contracts, budgets, and project financials.
- Ensure compliance with surveying regulations and lead quality control processes.
- Supervise field crews; ensure accurate daily documentation; mentor and train staff while supporting new equipment and software implementation.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 10 years of land surveying experience.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred or ability to obtain within 180 days.
- Strong experience managing survey teams and department operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of survey procedures, control, staking, and jobsite safety.
Preferred
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- High attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
