Controls Technician (PLC Experience)

Join a dynamic team dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people and their pets. As a Controls Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal performance of automation systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and support PLC and Safety PLC systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, GuardLogix) and HMI systems (Wonderware/AVEVA, PanelView).
• Diagnose and repair 480VAC three-phase systems, 120VAC circuits, and 24VAC/VDC control circuits.
• Maintain industrial robots, vision systems, motors, drives, and instrumentation (flow meters, load cells, etc.).
• Serve as a subject matter expert for operations and engineering teams; document all hardware/software modifications and maintain control system records.
• Support initiatives aimed at improving plant efficiency and ensuring compliance with safety standards and the National Electrical Code (NEC).

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years of plant technical experience OR 3 years of relevant experience plus a 2-year technical degree.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs/Safety PLCs using ladder logic, sequencer programming, and Add-On Instruction (AOI) blocks.
• Ability to read/interpret electrical schematics and a deep understanding of industrial electrical systems.
• Willingness to work 3rd shift, weekends, and overtime as required.

Preferred

• Associate Degree in Electrical Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience with Wonderware/AVEVA System Platform and Microsoft SQL databases.
• Basic understanding of Cisco networking/industrial LAN and CAD drawing modifications.
