Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with strong Oil & Gas experience to support engineering activities for wireline & perforating systems at Halliburton. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, testing, and sustaining complex mechanical systems used in high-pressure downhole environments. Experience with injection-molded plastics and electromechanical components is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical components and assemblies for wireline, perforating, and downhole tools.
• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Evaluate designs using engineering principles, FEA, tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems in Oil & Gas field applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, testing, quality, supply chain).
• Work with injection-molding plastic components, including design for manufacturability (DFM) and material selection.
• Provide sustaining engineering support for existing products and resolve field issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety, reliability, and industry standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–10 years of Mechanical Engineering experience (Oil & Gas strongly preferred).
• Prior experience with wireline and perforating tools or similar electromechanical downhole equipment.
• Strong understanding of Injection molding plastics and DFM principles.
• Experience working with complex mechanical systems (high-pressure, high-temperature preferred).
• Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks / Creo / Inventor).
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering test methods.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with reliability engineering, FEA, or thermal/structural analysis.
• Prior experience in Halliburton, Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, NOV, or other Oil & Gas service companies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
