Job Summary:
Seeking an Unclaimed Property Specialist 2 to support the Taxpayer Services Division. In this role, you will investigate and process unclaimed property claims, verify ownership documentation, communicate with claimants, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and investigate unclaimed property claims.
- Verify ownership through detailed review of supporting documentation.
- Conduct claimant interviews and follow-up investigations.
- Research records to locate and validate unclaimed property.
- Interpret and apply state statutes, federal regulations, and agency policies.
- Review legal documents including:
- Wills
- Trusts
- Powers of Attorney
- Court documents
- Affidavits
- Contracts
- Corporate resolutions
- Communicate professionally with claimants regarding claim requirements and ownership.
- Gather information from multiple sources to determine claim eligibility.
- Approve eligible claims for payment.
- Manage assigned workload while meeting quality and productivity standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the claim process.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with Data Entry.
- Experience with Claim Processing.
- Strong computer skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and word processing applications.
- Comfortable learning new software such as Google Workspace.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment
