Job Title: Assistant Maintenance Manager
Location: Georgetown, KY 40324
Job Type: Full-time, On-site
Shift: 8-hour day shift, Monday to Friday (weekends as needed)
Position Overview:
The Assistant Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring overall equipment and facility maintenance, minimizing downtime, maintaining safety standards, and achieving waste/productivity goals. This role oversees maintenance operations, coordinates preventative maintenance programs, manages budgets, and leads technical and non-technical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day production maintenance operations and ensure all equipment and facilities remain functional and safe.
- Supervise and lead maintenance teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Manage preventative maintenance programs for all shop equipment; prioritize tasks in coordination with production management.
- Develop, influence, and manage departmental budgets, costs, and vendor relationships.
- Utilize problem-solving and creative thinking to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Remain knowledgeable about all operational aspects of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, air handling units, plumbing, overhead doors, mechanical systems, process controls, pumps, valves, pneumatic and hydraulic devices.
- Conduct and document inspections (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) of facilities and equipment.
- Schedule and document maintenance, repairs, tests, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and hazardous waste regulations.
- Maintain inventory of parts and tools to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure completion of safety training and proper documentation of department records.
- Coordinate work schedules and priorities to meet operational needs.
Qualifications:
- Strong working knowledge of building systems in a manufacturing facility.
- Understanding of blueprints, schematics, control diagrams, materials, and finishes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- AA degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing maintenance role.
- Ability to maintain an “on-call” schedule and work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays.
- Broad experience in plant equipment maintenance, electrical, welding, and fabrication processes.
