Overview: Seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Controls Lead to manage multiple large-scale capital projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and ownership, providing clear, accurate financial reporting and proactive management of project budgets. This role involves significant responsibility for forecasting, risk management, and ensuring project financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project controls for three different projects, including Peptide Head Block (PHB), SM1 Head Block, and SM2 Headblock.
- Oversee and manage overall project budgets, including forecasting cash flow and anticipating budget needs while accounting for risks and change orders.
- Oversight of purchase order creation and management by assistant cost controller
- Invoice reviews and approvals with Quantity Surveyor team and PMs
- Accruals tracking and submissions
- Prepare and present clean, comprehensive, and easily understandable monthly reports for Project Managers and senior leadership.Part of these monthly reports will include slides outside of the PCL primary scope and will require coordinating with other SMEs to provide those slides in a timely manner.
- Take full ownership of the role, proactively leading project financial discussions and decision-making.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for budget-related inquiries, providing immediate and accurate information on budget status, outstanding purchase orders (POs), and WBS codes.
- Lead and manage one assistant controller consultant.
- Have oversight of Headblocks scheduling team
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 12-15 years of dedicated project cost-related experience, with a focus on financial management rather than just tracking invoices/POs.
- Project Size: Proven experience with large capital projects ($100 million ).
- Multi-Project Management: Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects (e.g., 20, 30, 50 million dollar projects).
- Leadership & Ownership: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, lead, and make independent decisions without constant oversight.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, capable of efficiently managing and retrieving financial data.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong exposure to SAP and ARIBA.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint and other standard Microsoft Office applications for reporting and analysis.
- Experience in Oracle Unifier Accelerator is beneficial
