Key Responsibilities
Weld Preparation: Cut, shape, and prep structural steel components so they are ready for welding and assembly.
Structural Assembly: Lay out, fit, and position beams, columns, brackets, and other steel parts according to drawings or instructions. Ensure everything is square, level, and aligned using basic tools like tape measures, squares, and levels.
Tack Welding: Use proper weld settings and techniques to tack pieces into place before final welds are completed.
Grinding & Finishing: Grind, deburr, and clean structural steel parts to meet company quality standards.
Quality Inspection: Check measurements, alignment, and overall fit-up throughout the build to ensure accuracy and safe installation.
Documentation: Fill out simple forms or notes related to inspections, part numbers, or completed work as required.
Tool & Equipment Care: Inspect and maintain tools, welding machines, and equipment to ensure they are safe and ready for use.
Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all safety rules, use proper PPE, and help keep the work area clean and organized.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Ability to read and understand basic structural drawings, layouts, and instructions.
Experience working with structural steel and basic welding/tack welding.
Knowledge of proper fit-up, alignment, and measurement practices.
Comfortable using hand tools, grinders, and measuring tools.
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality, accurate work.
Physically able to lift, carry, stand, and bend for long periods (up to 50–75 lbs).
Able to work in a busy shop environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and heavy materials.
Must be able to read and write to complete basic paperwork and follow written instructions.
SHIFTS AVAILABLE:
1st shift Monday-Thurs 5a-3:30p / 5am-1:30p some SAT OT.
2nd shift Monday-Thurs 4p-2:30a / Fri 2p-10:30p / Saturday 1-9p
PAY:
1st shift
2nd shift differential to 25.00
