Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Hospice Administrator/Admin Assistant to oversee the daily operations of our hospice care facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in long-term and senior care, and a deep understanding of hospice services, including dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, and home & community care. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and delivering exceptional patient-centered care to individuals with complex health needs. The Hospice Administrator will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality standards while fostering a supportive environment for residents and staff alike.
Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the hospice facility, ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to residents' needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, and memory care.
- Supervise nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality resident care.
- Manage budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation to maintain efficient operations.
- Coordinate with assisted living facilities, nursing homes, retirement homes, group homes, and home & community care providers to facilitate seamless resident transitions and continuity of care.
- Ensure medication administration protocols are followed accurately and safely.
- Lead staff recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated team environment.
- Maintain documentation related to resident care plans, incident reports, compliance records, and operational procedures.
- Engage with residents’ families to communicate care updates and address concerns compassionately.
- Promote a culture of safety, compassion, and excellence within the organization.
Requirements
- Proven management experience in long-term care settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or retirement communities.
- Extensive background in senior care including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and home & community-based services.
- Supervisory experience leading multidisciplinary teams in healthcare environments.
- Strong understanding of healthcare operations management including budgeting and financial acumen.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols within a senior or long-term care context.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Familiarity with social work practices related to eldercare and hospice services is preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills combined with compassion for residents and staff.
- Ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families, staff, healthcare providers, and community partners.
