Oracle FAH Functional Consultant – Job Description

  • Role Overview

The Oracle FAH Functional Consultant designs, configures, and supports accounting integrations using Oracle Fusion Accounting Hub. They work with finance and IT teams to ensure that transactions from external systems are correctly transformed into accounting entries and posted to Oracle Fusion General Ledger.

  • Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis

  • Gather and analyze business requirements from finance stakeholders.
  • Understand source systems feeding accounting data (billing, CRM, legacy ERP, etc.).
  • Document functional specifications and accounting rules.

FAH Configuration

  • Configure Source Systems and Transaction Objects.
  • Define Accounting Rules and Mapping Sets.
  • Configure Subledger Accounting (SLA) rules.
  • Set up Journal Line Rules, Account Derivation Rules, and Description Rules.

Integration

  • Work with technical teams to integrate external systems using Oracle Integration Cloud, Oracle SOA Suite, or file-based loaders.
  • Support inbound data loads and validation.
  • Troubleshoot interface errors.

Testing

  • Prepare functional test cases and UAT scenarios.
  • Validate accounting outputs.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies.

Implementation & Support

  • Participate in end-to-end Oracle ERP implementations.
  • Provide post-go-live support and issue resolution.
  • Support period close processes.
  • Required Skills

Functional Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Accounting principles (GL, subledger accounting).
  • Experience in Accounting Hub configuration.
  • Knowledge of SLA (Subledger Accounting) concepts.
  • Understanding of chart of accounts and financial reporting structures.

Oracle Skills

  • Experience with:
    • Oracle Fusion Accounting Hub (FAH)
    • Oracle Fusion General Ledger
    • Oracle Fusion Financials
Technical Understanding (preferred)

  • Interface formats (CSV, XML, REST APIs).
  • Data migration tools like Oracle FBDI.
  • Basic SQL for troubleshooting.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or IT.
  • CA / CPA / MBA Finance is a plus.
  • 3–10 years experience in Oracle Financials or Accounting Hub.
