Job Summary
The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing all field operations within an assigned territory. This includes managing HVAC technicians, ensuring quality control, optimizing routes, coordinating materials and logistics, and supporting hiring and training efforts.
This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and can balance people management with operational efficiency.
Note that travel may be required at times throughout the territory
Responsibilities
Field Operations Management
- Supervise and support field technicians in daily service activities
- Ensure jobs are completed on time, safely, and to company standards
- Provide ongoing coaching, accountability, and performance management
Quality Control
- Conduct field audits and job site inspections
- Maintain high service quality and customer satisfaction
- Identify and correct performance or process issues
Routing & Scheduling
- Plan and optimize technician routes for efficiency and coverage
- Coordinate daily and weekly schedules based on workload and priorities
- Adjust routes in real-time as needed
Hiring & Training
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and on boarding new technicians
- Train field staff on procedures, systems, and service standards
- Develop team members for growth and advancement
Materials & Logistics
- Manage inventory, materials, and equipment for the territory
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, and distribution of supplies
- Ensure technicians are properly stocked for scheduled work
Territory Planning & Operations
- Oversee overall performance of the assigned service area
- Analyze workload, staffing needs, and operational gaps
- Implement improvements to increase efficiency and profitability
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in HVAC field operations, service management, or a similar role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with routing, logistics, or scheduling preferred
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the territory
Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
