As a Snow Plow Operator, you will be instrumental in maintaining operational continuity and safety for residents, employees, and visitors alike. Responsibilities
- Manage the snow removal of sidewalks and pathways at large scale 24/7 commercial sites
- Monitor weather conditions continuously to anticipate snow accumulation and adjust operations accordingly.
- Perform routine inspections of plowing equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Coordinate with supervisory staff to prioritize routes and manage snow removal schedules effectively.
- Apply salt or other de-icing materials as needed to enhance safety on cleared surfaces.
- Maintain detailed logs of work performed, including areas cleared, materials used, and time spent on each task.
- Conduct minor maintenance on plowing equipment to ensure reliability during storm events.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as snow plows, trucks, or construction equipment.
- Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance, landscaping, lawn care, gardening, horticulture, and tree care is a plus for understanding terrain and environmental considerations.
- Supervising or leadership experience demonstrating the ability to coordinate team efforts during winter operations.
- Ability to work in cold weather conditions for extended periods while maintaining focus on safety and efficiency.
- Familiarity with construction or maintenance practices relevant to outdoor winter work environments.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors effectively.
