HydroJug is a Utah-based hydration and lifestyle brand built on a simple idea: drinking enough water should be easy, and the gear you do it with should look good. We have grown fast across direct-to-consumer, Amazon, and national retail, and we design, source, and ship our own products — which means finance here is close to the real levers of the business: product margin, inventory, media efficiency, and channel mix.

We are a lean team that moves quickly. You will not be the fifth analyst on a forecast — you will own real scope and see your work show up in decisions within days, not quarters.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team and serve as a core partner in how HydroJug plans, forecasts, and measures performance. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of FP&A, you will own significant pieces of the annual budget, the rolling forecast, and monthly reporting, and you will build the analysis that leadership uses to allocate capital, evaluate and implement key initiatives, and set growth targets.

This role is a strong fit for someone who has outgrown pure report production and wants to be in the room where decisions get made — someone equally comfortable rebuilding a driver-based model and explaining a variance to a non-finance leader in plain language.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

PLANNING & FORECASTING

• Own and continuously improve the driver-based operating model — revenue by channel, gross margin, contribution margin, operating expense, and cash.
• Lead assigned workstreams of the annual budget and the rolling monthly/quarterly forecast, from assumption-setting through consolidation and executive review.
• Build long-range and scenario models (new product launches, new channels, price changes, promotional strategy, headcount) and quantify the tradeoffs clearly.

REPORTING & BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP

• Deliver the monthly reporting package: actuals versus budget and forecast, variance explanations with root cause, and a clear "so what" for leadership.
• Serve as the finance business partner to assigned functions across the business — building their budgets with them, holding them to the plan, and translating financial impact into decisions they can act on.
• Prepare materials for executive, board, and lender reporting, including KPI dashboards and narrative commentary.

ANALYSIS THAT DRIVES DECISIONS

• Analyze unit economics and profitability by channel, customer, and SKU — landed cost, freight, discounting, returns, and fulfillment — and identify where margin is being created or lost.
• Measure marketing efficiency in partnership with the growth team and pressure-test spend against incremental return.
• Support inventory and demand planning with financial modeling of purchase commitments, sell-through, working capital, and cash conversion.
• Build the business case for capital requests and evaluate results after the fact.

SYSTEMS, PROCESS & SCALE

• Improve the FP&A toolkit: strengthen data sources, automate recurring reporting, and reduce the manual work between close and insight.
• Partner with Accounting through the monthly close on accruals, reclasses, and reporting alignment.
• Document what you build, raise the bar on data integrity, and set the standard for analytical rigor on the team.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 4 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, transaction advisory, consulting, or a comparable analytical finance role.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
• Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills. You build models that are structured, transparent, and driver-based rather than hardcoded.
• Solid command of the three financial statements and how operating decisions flow through them.
• Demonstrated ability to turn messy data into a clear recommendation, and to communicate it credibly to senior, non-financial audiences.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward ownership. You chase down the answer rather than waiting for a cleaner request.
• High attention to detail paired with the judgment to know when precision matters and when speed matters more.

BONUS POINTS

• Experience in consumer products, e-commerce/DTC, or omni-channel retail — especially with physical inventory.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite (or a comparable ERP) and an enterprise planning tool.
• SQL and experience working directly in a data warehouse.
• Familiarity with BI tools and with Shopify or Amazon Seller Central reporting.
• Exposure to landed cost, tariffs and duties, inventory accounting, or trade/promotional spend analysis.
• CPA, CFA, or MBA — helpful, not required.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

FIRST 90 DAYS

• You know the business model cold, own your recurring reporting cycle, and have built trust with your functional partners.

FIRST 6 MONTHS

• You own your forecast areas end to end, have rebuilt or materially improved at least one core model or reporting process, and are surfacing insights leadership had not asked for yet.

FIRST YEAR

• You are a trusted advisor to your business partners, your analysis routinely shapes business decisions, and the FP&A function runs measurably faster because of what you built.
