What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Account Manager position at HydroJug?
Senior Account Manager, National Retail
HydroJug · Sales
Reports To: VP of Sales
Location: Ogden, UT (On-Site)
Type: Full-Time, Exempt
About HydroJug
HydroJug is a family-owned consumer hydration brand with a rapidly growing retail footprint. We move fast, make decisions, and build products people actually love. This is a brand with real retail credibility — and we're looking for the right person to help take it further.
The Role
We're looking for a Senior Account Manager to own and grow HydroJug's most strategic national retail relationships. You'll be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of national accounts — managing senior buyer relationships, leading joint business planning, and driving distribution and revenue growth at scale.
This is not an entry point into retail sales. We want someone who has been in the room with national buyers, knows how to navigate complex retail organizations, and brings a track record of growing brands on shelf. You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy and are expected to bring a strategic point of view — not just execute tasks.
What You'll Own
- Senior buyer relationships across a portfolio of national retail accounts
- Account P&L — revenue targets, margin, trade spend, and sell-through performance
- Annual joint business planning with key accounts, including assortment strategy, buy windows, promotional calendars, and alignment with internal demand planning
- New item sell-in and distribution expansion — identifying and closing opportunities to grow shelf presence, doors, endcaps, and placement within existing accounts
- Retail operations at scale — routing guides, EDI, DC compliance, chargebacks, and labeling requirements across major retail partners
- In-store execution standards — planogram compliance, product placement, and resets across a national footprint
- Forecasting accuracy and on-time submission to the internal planning team
- Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, operations, and finance to align retail strategy with broader business goals
What We're Looking For
- 5–7 years of retail account management experience, with demonstrated ownership of national accounts
- Deep knowledge of how national retail works — major buy cycles, pricing, assortment strategy, forecasting, planogram processes, routing guides, chargeback management, and retail ops compliance
- Data-driven and analytically sharp — you use POS data, sell-through trends, and market insights to build compelling stories that move buyers to action
- Strategic and proactive — you don't wait to be told where the opportunity is, you find it and build a plan to go get it
- Strong cross-functional collaborator who can translate retail dynamics into clear priorities for internal teams
- Exceptionally organized — you manage complexity across multiple accounts without dropping the ball on the details
How Success Is Measured
- Revenue vs. plan by account (monthly and quarterly)
- Distribution growth — new doors, SKUs, or placements secured within existing accounts
- Forecast accuracy within ±10% of actuals, with consistent on-time submission to the planning team
