What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Performance Marketing position at HydroJug?
Director of Performance Marketing
HydroJug · Ogden, Utah · Full-Time
Reports to: VP of Ecommerce
ABOUT HYDROJUG
HydroJug is one of Utah's fastest-growing consumer brands — a $250M company on a
mission to help people drink more water and live healthier lives. Founded in 2016 in Ogden,
Utah, we've built a loyal following of millions of customers through a combination of great
product design, authentic community, and performance-driven marketing. We sell across our
own DTC channels, Amazon, and a growing network of retail partners.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is the most senior performance marketing role at HydroJug. Reporting directly to the VP of
Ecommerce, you will own the full performance marketing function — strategy, execution,
optimization, reporting, and team buildout. You'll be responsible for $40M in annual paid spend
across Amazon, Meta, TikTok, Google, retail media networks, and influencer partnerships.
We're looking for a strategic operator: someone who can build systems and a team, go deep
into platforms when needed, and translate performance data into clear business decisions.
You'll partner closely with creative, brand, finance, and the VP of Ecommerce to drive profitable
growth at scale.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
• Full stewardship of ~$40M in annual paid spend across Amazon DSP/AMS, Meta, TikTok,
Google, and emerging channels
• Weekly and monthly performance reporting across paid media, and retailer co-op spend
— synthesized into clear dashboards for leadership
• Channel-by-channel optimization cadence: bid management, creative rotation, audience
strategy, and budget allocation
• Retail media strategy across Amazon, Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, and other retail
media networks
• Influencer performance measurement: attribution frameworks, incremental impact
tracking, and coordination with the brand team
• Building and leading a high-performance team — hiring channel specialists over the next
12–18 months
• Owning the performance marketing tech stack: analytics, competitor and keyword data,
and reporting infrastructure
• Partnering with creative to brief, test, and iterate on ad content using a structured testing
framework
• Maintain and optimize our performance marketing calendar and make sure we are
maximizing all events across every platform.
• Developing and maintaining forward-looking forecasts for CAC, ROAS, and revenue
contribution by channel
• Representing performance marketing in cross-functional planning, budgeting, and
quarterly business reviews
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• 7 years in performance marketing, with at least 3 years managing $20M in annual paid
spend at a DTC, omnichannel, or consumer brand
• Deep hands-on expertise in Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, and Amazon DSP/AMS —
you can go into the platform and do the work, not just review reports
• Proven track record building and managing performance marketing teams; you know how
to hire, develop, and retain channel specialists
• Strong analytical fluency — you're comfortable with incrementality testing, blended ROAS,
contribution margin, and LTV:CAC frameworks
• Experience owning a multi-channel attribution model and driving alignment on how
performance is measured across teams
• Familiarity with retail media networks and co-op spend management alongside owned
DTC channels
• Excellent cross-functional communicator — you can translate performance data into
business language for finance, brand, and executive audiences
• Bonus: experience at a brand in health, fitness, hydration, outdoor, or CPG
Salary : $20 - $40
