JOB TITLE: Platform Specialist

LOCATION: Onsite - Houston, TX

SCHEDULE: Standard Working Hours

DURATION: 12-Month Contract

PAY: USD 77-82/hr

In this role, you will support the development, maturation, and operational excellence of enterprise cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading cloud platform initiatives across AWS and Azure, including:
  
  o Supporting tenant and subscription design and governance.
  
  o Building and maintaining landing zones.
  
  o Implementing secure cloud networking and infrastructure.
  
  o Driving Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption and standardization.
  
• Managing and supporting on-premises Kubernetes clusters for platform stability and scalability.
  
• Collaborating closely with Product, DBAs, Developers, DevOps, SRE, and Data Engineering teams to implement cloud best practices early in the design lifecycle.
  
• Driving improvements in Site Reliability, Observability, Scalability, and Cost Optimization across cloud and infrastructure platforms.
  
• Architecting and implementing technical solutions that improve service levels across cloud and on-premises environments.
  
  
  
  Essential Duties and Job Functions:
  
  
• Implement cloud infrastructure best practices with a focus on reliability, scalability, and observability.
  
• Develop and maintain Azure and AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  
• Support provisioning, tuning, and security hardening of Kubernetes clusters.
  
• Monitor platform health and remediate infrastructure-related issues proactively.
  
• Perform incident investigation, root cause analysis, diagnosis, and issue resolution.
  
• Identify recurring operational problems and recommend permanent corrective actions.
  
• Design and implement redundant systems including:
  
  o Data backup and recovery solutions
  
  o High availability architecture
  
  o Load balancing
  
  o Disaster recovery capabilities
  
• Eliminate technical bottlenecks and coordinate support across infrastructure teams.
  
• Ensure continuous availability of platform and data services.
  
• Document and maintain environment architecture, standards, and technical procedures.
  
• Present platform improvement opportunities and recommendations to leadership.
  
  
  
  Knowledge & Skills:
  
  
• Strong expertise in AWS and Azure cloud services.
  
• Extensive experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline practices.
  
• Strong background in Linux system administration.
  
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, including:
  
  o Terraform
  
  o Ansible
  
  o Salt
  
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes administration and distributed systems.
  
• Strong knowledge of core infrastructure technologies, including:
  
  o Virtualization
  
  o Networking
  
  o Storage management
  
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair large-scale distributed systems.
  
• Excellent written documentation and verbal communication skills.
  
• Strong collaboration skills across technical and management teams.
  
• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve platform issues in complex environments.
  
  
  
  Education & Experience:
  
  
• 5 years of hands-on experience with AWS and Azure (professional certification or equivalent experience preferred).
  
• 5 years of experience in application deployment automation and DevOps practices.
  
• 5 years of experience installing, administering, and maintaining Linux-based systems.
  
• 3 years of experience with IT automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Salt.
  
• Experience designing and supporting highly available enterprise infrastructure environments.
  
• Experience with Kubernetes in both cloud and on-premises environments required.
