IT Project Manager III - Outage Management Systems (OMS)
Santa Ana, CA (Hybrid; 2 days on-site)
Duration: initial 12-month contract (W2, not eligible for C2C)
Pay: $72-77/hr
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager III to support and coordinate initiatives for a large electric utility's Outage Management System (OMS). This role requires a strong technical background in CGI OpenGrid (formerly PragmaLINE/PragmaUP) and will oversee operational support, system enhancements, infrastructure upgrades, and cross-functional project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day operational support and maintenance for an enterprise Outage Management System (OMS).
- Participate in an on-call support rotation while working standard Pacific Time business hours.
- Support system configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing enhancements for outage management applications.
- Assist with database and operating system upgrade initiatives, including configuration, testing, validation, and deployment activities.
- Analyze system logic, business processes, and operational data to support outage management projects and utility operations.
- Partner with IT teams to maintain and improve application, server, and infrastructure performance.
- Develop and execute SQL queries to support reporting and utility operational data requests.
- Configure, administer, and monitor grid management application software.
- Create and maintain automation using Shell scripting and/or Python.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including configuration guides, testing procedures, and system documentation.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience supporting CGI OpenGrid (formerly PragmaLINE/PragmaUP) or a comparable Outage Management System (OMS) within an electric utility environment.
- Experience providing production support and maintenance for mission-critical OMS applications.
- Strong SQL experience with the ability to analyze and retrieve operational data.
- Experience supporting Windows Server environments.
- Hands-on experience with OMS configuration, testing, and system upgrades.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Python and/or Shell scripting experience for automation and operational support.
- Experience with grid management or utility operational applications.
- Familiarity with electrical utility operations and outage restoration processes.
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
