As the largest independent pump reengineering aftermarket company in the world, Hydro's has provided engineering expertise, pump repair, and support services to the industry since 1969.We offer competitive pay, benefits, and the opportunity for professional growth.JOB SUMMARY:ThePump Mechanic is on the 1st Shift responsible for assembly, disassembly, and reassembly of rotating type equipment, mainly horizontal and vertical pumps. The Pump Mechanic will operate required tools for the disassembly and assembly of rotating equipment and utilize various M&TE (micrometers, calipers, etc..) for the inspection of the equipment. You will also use an overhead crane in our shop.KEY TASKS:Diagnose, disassemble, repair, and rebuild large pumps of all typesInterpret blueprints and schematic drawings in order to determine work procedures and construct foundations for pump assembly and disassemblyOperate manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric toolsAbility to utilize all M&TE (micrometers, calipers, etc.…)Work within precise limits or standards of accuracyThis is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate. Ability to use a variety of power and hand toolsAbility to use an overhead crane.Ability to read and comprehend inspection toolsStrong oral and written expression and comprehensionManual dexterityControl precisionCritical thinking and deductive reasoning skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional warehouse environment.EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:High school diploma or equivalent7 years of experience as a pump mechanic or in a similar role performing disassembly, inspection, and assembly of large pumps and rotating equipmentTECHNOLOGY, TOOLS, & MACHINERY:Manual, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric tools used to operate machineryMicrometers, gauges, and other inspection toolingFork trucks, overhead cranesThis is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate.
