Position Summary
The Distribution Clerk is responsible for supporting daily shipping, receiving, and distribution operations. This role ensures accurate order processing, inventory handling, and timely movement of materials to meet production and customer requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, and verify shipping and receiving documentation
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment according to company standards
- Verify incoming and outgoing materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and work orders
- Maintain accurate inventory records through ERP system transactions
- Coordinate with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to ensure timely material flow
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (if certified)
- Label, tag, and store materials in designated warehouse locations
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience preferred
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Made2Manage or similar) a plus
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry)
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and work orders
- Forklift certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment (hot/cold conditions as applicable)
Work Environment
- Warehouse and manufacturing setting
- Exposure to moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
Hourly range: $19hr-$20hr
