Hyde Park Elementary School seeks a 1.0 FTE preschool teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

HPES provides a PreK3 and PreK4 program, Monday through Friday. Exact days, hours, and grade levels to be determined by enrollment.
The teacher is responsible for promoting the academic and social-emotional growth of all children. This role includes creating an engaging and playful environment while overseeing and implementing the curriculum, maintaining confidential records for staff and students in compliance with the state licensing system, and maintaining 4 out of 5 STARS. The teacher will partner with families and partner with the Principal Director to ensure high-quality programming, staff coordination, and alignment with the HPES mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
-Provide an environment of joy and learning through active learning and play.
-Design and implement a developmentally appropriate weekly curriculum based on the expectations of LNSU and HPES.
-Conduct ongoing assessments using Teaching Strategies Gold and meet the individual needs of each child.
-Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
-Maintain regular, supportive communication with parents and caregivers.
-Support smooth transitions between home, classrooms, and grade levels.
-Manage daily operations and maintain all required documentation and records.
-Ensure compliance with Vermont child care licensing regulations.
-Collaborate with special educators, related services providers, staff, and school administration.
-Report any suspicion of child abuse or neglect as required.
-Lead continuous program improvement.
-Ensure constant supervision and the safety of all children.
-Collaborate with Kindergarten as a Pre-K and Kindergarten team.
-Collaborate with all school personnel and the community to create a cross-grade level caring environment.
