What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Art Director (Evergreen Content & Social) position at HYBE AMERICA?
About HYBE Americas
HYBE Americas is part of HYBE, a global leader at the intersection of music, entertainment, and technology. We represent some of the world’s most influential artists and continue to expand our creative and cultural impact across the Americas. At HYBE, we believe in the power of music and foster a culture built on Passion, Autonomy, and Trust.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Creative Director, the Art Director (Evergreen Content & Social Series) keeps the artist's visual ecosystem active and engaging between major music releases. This role focuses on conceptualizing, shooting, and editing daily short-form social content while building recurring, season-based digital video series. It is ideal for a hands-on creative who combines high-level art direction with camera operation, video editing, team leadership, and the flexibility to travel extensively with artists.
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in our Santa Monica office, with in-person collaboration 3 days per week and remote work 2 days per week. Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to the greater Los Angeles area at their own expense prior to their start date — we are not offering relocation assistance for this role, though it may be considered on a case-by-case basis for select candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Social & Always-On Content
- Concept, direct, and capture short-form photo and video content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) to maintain an always-on social presence aligned with the promotional calendar.
- Produce a wide range of short-form assets, including BTS, personality-driven moments, choreography, brand partnerships, and influencer collaborations.
- Work closely with artists to capture candid, authentic moments that highlight their true personality while maintaining high aesthetic quality.
- Monitor emerging social trends, digital formats, and internet subcultures, translating them into elevated content that engages and expands the fanbase.
Original Series Direction
- Ideate, structure, and direct recurring, season-based digital video series, including vlogs, behind-the-scenes footage, docu-style episodes, and unscripted shows.
- Assemble production crews and partner with external vendors to co-develop larger original content series.
Hands-On Production & Editing
- Function as a nimble, self-contained production unit, when needed – handling camera operation, basic lighting setups, and fast-turnaround video editing.
Team, Budget & Vendor Management
- Manage an internal team of a photographer and a videographer, providing clear creative direction and daily workflow oversight.
- Oversee a dedicated production budget to hire and manage external vendors for extended filming and post-production support.
Post-Production & Platform Optimization
- Make sure post-production output creatively aligns with the Creative Director’s and Art Director (Campaign Creative & Brand Strategy)'s overall visual brand strategy.
- Oversee multi-platform content optimization (vertical/horizontal formats, custom thumbnails, aspect ratios), multi-language subtitle integration, and multicultural sensitivity across all releases.
- Collaborate closely with marketing, creative, and business operations teams to ensure social content supports broader business goals.
Qualifications
- 7 years in video production, digital art direction, or social content creation for media brands, publishers, or music artists.
- Experience managing direct reports (photographers, videographers) and directing external production vendors and budgets.
- Proficient with digital cinema and mirrorless cameras (Sony, Canon, Blackmagic) and fluent in Adobe Video Suite (Premiere Pro required; After Effects is a plus).
- Hands-on experience in field production, unscripted content, documentary shoots, and quick-turn digital photo/video assets.
- Knowledge of multi-platform export specs, thumbnail design, caption/subtitle workflows, and maintaining cultural sensitivity across global audiences.
- A strong reel demonstrating quick-turn social content, episodic video series, expert camera work, and polished editing.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively with artists on tour, on set, and for off-site appearances.
