Your role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate has a passion for baking and pastry arts, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing, baking, and plating a variety of Italian-style breads, cakes, cookies, gelati, and other desserts, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake a variety of house-made breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and desserts according to restaurant recipes and standards.
- Produce gelato, sorbet, and ice cream
- Maintain mise en place and ensure product freshness and quality at all times.
- Operate and maintain bakery and pastry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor ingredient inventory, assist with ordering, and minimize food waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- 1–2 years of experience in a professional bakery, pastry kitchen, or restaurant setting (Italian pastry experience preferred).
- Knowledge of bread baking, pastry techniques, and dessert plating.
- Ability to follow recipes precisely and maintain consistency in product quality.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to multitask in a busy environment.
- Team-oriented attitude with a passion for the culinary arts.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Culinary or pastry degree or certification is a plus.
- Able to perform the essential functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting quality standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and squat frequently.
