About the Role -
The Director of Events is responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of all events and conferences while driving event-related revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction. This role manages a professional team of Event Planners and plays a vital role in aligning the resort’s event planning function with strategic sales goals and service excellence.
This position is ideal for a results-driven, collaborative hospitality leader with a proven track record in event operations, client service, and revenue maximization.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- To ensure the profitability and efficient running of the Events Department to meet all departmental objectives.
- Direct and support a high-performing team, ensuring consistency in event execution, communication, and service delivery
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback; conduct regular one-on-ones and team meetings
- Oversee daily workflow, staffing, scheduling, and communication with resort departments to align on event execution priorities
Event Planning & Execution
- To personally handle a small number of premium events and VIP meetings
- Support the planning of all group events, including meetings, weddings, social functions, and incentive programs
- Lead weekly group review meetings, BEO review sessions, pre-convention meetings, and post-event evaluations
- Ensure all planning and logistical details are flawlessly executed, with a focus on proactive communication and operational readiness
Operational & Strategic Leadership
- Represent the Events team in resort leadership meetings, sales strategy sessions, and business reviews.
- Continuously assess and improve event processes, standards, and tools to enhance efficiency and consistency.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting for the Events department.
- Support sustainability, service excellence, and brand alignment initiatives in all planning and execution practices.
Qualifications - External
Experience & Education:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or resort.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, or related field preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
