What are the responsibilities and job description for the Egg Route Technician position at Hy Line International?
Primary Functions:
To ensure egg products are collected, transported and palletized for scheduled delivery.
Responsibilities/ Duties:
· Responsible for collecting eggs from layer barns
· Manually transfer all eggs from egg racks to pallets to be stored until designated shipping date
· Document eggs source flocks, lay date and other data as required
· Required to load egg pallets for delivery and return all material to proper location
· Maintain supply inventory of cases, flats, racks, and pallets
· Document daily the temperature of the egg truck, and egg cooler temperature(s)
· Complete and maintain records for Egg Transfer, DC Cooler and FDA requirements
· Ensure all work is completed within biosecurity guidelines
· Maintain the E-Log system according to state and federal regulations
· Report vehicle maintenance issues to management
· Able to maintain equipment and operate within biosecurity requirements
· Perform other tasks as assigned by Flock Service Manager
· Comply with OSHA, Bio-Security, Welfare, and DOT regulations
Special knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications:
· Must have a current valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement issued by Department of Transportation
· Knowledge and able to physically use manual and electronic pallet jacks to maneuver egg pallets
· Must be able to understand and carry out simple to complex written, math and verbal instructions
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift or move objects with proper equipment.
· Willing to work variable schedule of nights, weekends and holidays when requested
· Required to sit, stand, climb, and move about the vehicle and facilities
Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
