hXpath is partnering with a well-established international freight forwarder and customs broker to identify an experienced Customs Brokerage Manager to lead their San Francisco (SFO) operations. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing brokerage functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational efficiency and team performance.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage day-to-day customs brokerage operations, ensuring timely and compliant clearance of shipments
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of entry writers and brokerage staff
  • Maintain full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, including CBP requirements and PGA filings
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Customs-related escalations, audits, and inquiries
  • Oversee entry processing, classification, valuation, and duty optimization strategies
  • Collaborate with internal departments (air/ocean operations, sales) to ensure seamless end-to-end service delivery
  • Monitor KPIs, productivity metrics, and service levels to drive continuous improvement
  • Support client relationships by providing expertise on trade compliance, tariffs, and regulatory changes
  • Ensure accurate billing, cost controls, and contribution to overall branch profitability


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in customs brokerage, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity
  • Active U.S. Customs Broker License required
  • Strong knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, and import compliance regulations
  • Experience with Cargowise or similar brokerage systems preferred
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive operational excellence
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with clients and government agencies
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities

Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
