Role Overview
The Sales Support Manager is a position that sits at the intersection of sales execution, customer requirements, and internal operations. This role leads a team of Sales Support Specialists responsible for ensuring the sales organization has the tools, data, and operational support needed to win at retail.
This position is ideal for a candidate with experience in CPG sales operations, brokerage environments, or specialty food distribution, who understands how behind-the-scenes execution directly impacts customer relationships, shelf presence, and revenue growth. A successful candidate should have strong communication and team leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and motivate a team of Sales Support Representatives
- Partner closely with the Sales Team to align support priorities with sales initiatives
- Own and improve processes including deductions, rebates, forecasting, new item setup, and portal management
- Prepare customer presentations, coordinate samples, and support sales materials
- Manage pricing changes, item updates, and customer communications
- Maintain accurate customer and manufacturer data across CRM systems
- Balance multiple client, customer, and internal priorities in a fast-paced CPG environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent CPG experience
- Experience supporting CPG sales teams, brokers, or specialty brands
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven people leadership and cross-functional collaboration
- Specialty Market class of trade experience preferred
- Advanced MS Office skills
- CRM experience (Quickbase a plus)
Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000
