Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installer Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret schematics and HVAC design plans. The technician will ensure that all installations meet safety standards and client specifications, contributing to efficient climate control solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install HVAC systems including air conditioning units, furnaces, ventilation systems, and refrigeration equipment in new or existing structures.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to ensure accurate installation.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, including refrigeration systems such as ammonia refrigeration.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using tools like ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems when necessary.
- Weld and fabricate components as needed for custom installations or repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Test system performance post-installation or repair to verify proper operation.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used for each project.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems when required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, service technician roles, or HVAC installation is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), and mechanical systems.
- Hands-on experience with plumbing, appliance repair, boiler operation, welding, and equipment repair is advantageous.
- Familiarity with field service operations and property maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge related to air conditioning units, ventilation systems, and HVAC/R equipment.
- Experience operating diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (
driver). - Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments requiring physical activity such as lifting or climbing ladders.
