Azure Data Engineer, Financial Services - NYC

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer to become a key member of our client's dynamic team within the financial services sector, based in New York. Partnering closely with data architects, data engineers, and Power BI developers, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive data solutions that empower business decisions and drive impactful insights.

• Data Pipeline Development: Build and maintain robust pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Functions for efficient end-to-end data processing.
• Event Streaming: Implement event-driven ingestion patterns using Event Hubs, Fabric Eventstreams, and ingestion into KQL databases.
• Database Management & Optimization: Manage Azure SQL DB, Cosmos DB, Synapse Serverless, and optimize Fabric Lakehouses using partitioning, indexing, and clustering techniques.
• Power BI Integration: Create views and semantic models to support Power BI reporting and collaborate on optimizing DAX queries and designs.
• Serverless Automation: Develop serverless solutions triggered by Azure Functions and build streamlined workflows using CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Infrastructure as Code: Design and maintain Terraform modules to provision Azure data services and resources.
• Programming Expertise: Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark for data processing, automation, and advanced pipeline workflows.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of relevant data engineering experience, preferably within financial services.
