POSITION SUMMARY
The Dean of Enrollment Management serves as the senior administrative officer of the university’s enrollment management operations. The Dean of Enrollment Management is responsible for coordinating the following departments and services: student retention, admissions, financial aid, and student records & registration.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide strong, effective leadership and creative vision for the development, modification, implementation, and monitoring of the policies, plans, and procedures for strategic recruitment, enrollment, and retention of a diverse, multi-cultural student body;
- To develop, manage, and maintain an effective marketing and recruitment strategy that identifies and addresses the university’s niche in the educational arena in full compliance with the mission and goals of the university
- To incorporate the assistance and support of enrolled students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other defined individuals and groups in the effective implementation of the university’s strategic marketing and recruitment plan
- To supervise the collection and dissemination of student recruitment data that clearly identify the accomplishment of recruitment objectives or failure to accomplish the same, and to utilize collected data to make recommendations to the administration that modify the strategic marketing and recruitment plan in compliance with the university’s institutional effectiveness model
- To provide administrative leadership and oversight to the Registrar and the Registrar’s office and recommend, where appropriate, changes that assure an efficient registration/pre-registration process that recognizes students as customers who have a right to a speedy and efficient registration and to maintain the university’s student records in compliance with the U.S. Department of Education’s rules and regulations;
- To supervise the Director of Admission for the university and develop, implement, and monitor an admission process that admits a defined freshman student population that meets enrollment goals
- To review and evaluate admission criteria and trends at related institutions, and use the data acquired to recommend revisions in the university’s admission requirements in compliance with the mission, objectives, and strategic marketing and recruitment plan
- To develop, implement, and modify as appropriate, an admission process that takes full advantage of the university’s technology and admission/recruiting personnel to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and the university’s mission
- To provide administrative leadership and oversight of the Financial Aid Office and recommend changes, where appropriate, to assure compliance with federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations; and serve as the university’s Certification Officer for the U.S. Department of Education.
- To provide creative leadership that ensures that financial aid awards are issued in a timely manner, and that supports the recruitment and retention efforts of the university
- To ensure that the Financial Aid process fully utilizes the technology to provide minimal obstacles for student recipients
- To monitor and report on the effectiveness of the university’s financial aid program
- To direct and evaluate the performance of the Admission/Recruitment staff, Financial Aid staff, and Registrar’s staff, and make appropriate recommendations
- To ensure that all Enrollment Management reporting requirements and deadlines are met on the pre-determined schedules with comprehensive, accurate data
- To prepare, revise, and manage the Enrollment Management operating budget within the university’s guidelines
- PhD. Preferred, MBA or MA with at least five years’ experience in Enrollment Management preferred
- Comprehensive experience in administration, supervision and coordination of educational services in admission, financial aid, and retention at the university level

- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations
- Knowledge of current issues in recruitment, retention, and financial aid in higher education and active participation in professional associations
- Demonstrated decision-making, problem-solving, and collaboration skills with a wide spectrum of university constituents
- Significant administrative experience in positions of increasing responsibility
- Demonstrated commitment to education and student excellence;

- This position reports to the Vice President of Enrollment Management
SALARY RANGE
- $75,000 annually, plus benefits!

Founded in 1875, Huston-Tillotson University is Austin's first institution of higher education. The University is an independent, liberal arts, church-related, historically black institution located on a 23-acre tree-lined campus near downtown Austin, Texas.
