Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update daily shipping schedule
- Complete BOL’s in Baan
- Checking in and out truck drivers.
- Work closely with the Shipping Coordinator, Leads, and Supervisor on daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Ensure all shipments receive the proper labeling and postal charges and are packaged to arrive safely.
- Keep management and supervisors aware of products that missed shipment to maintain accurate information for production report out each day.
- Practice customer service when interacting with other companies and clients and see to it that all external parties receive a positive interaction with the company.
- Verify all outgoing shipments are accurate by comparing the invoice to the order and ensuring all goods are in acceptable condition.
- Prepare detailed and accurate invoices to accompany shipments and ensure all items are shipped to meet company standards.
- Work with other shipping leads/supervisors to see that all invoices are handled promptly, and goods are shipped safely.
- Provides additional backup support for the shipping coordinator and the shipping lead.
- Work with the supervisor to maintain the Skid and Crate inventory
- Organize pictures of all products shipped
- Membership in Teamsters Local 986 is required once hired.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Need to have proven work experience as a Shipping clerk or similar role.
- Flexibility to work different hours.
- Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- A high school qualification or equivalent.
- Strong computer skills, shipping software, and Microsoft Office.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Frequent use of hands for fine motor skills.
- Ability to bend, kneel, and reach as needed.
- Manufacturing/production floor environment.
- Exposure to noise from machinery.
- Required use of appropriate PPE (safety glasses, gloves, etc.).
