What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Equipment Repair & Diagnostics Technician position at Husqvarna Construction North America?
Step into our Husqvarna Construction Service Center in Branford, CT and own the full lifecycle of equipment care. You’ll be the go-to problem solver who supports our Sales organization by evaluating, diagnosing, and repairing Husqvarna Construction’s complete portfolio—from saws and cutters to surface preparation systems. You’ll bring equipment back to peak performance while partnering closely with Technical Services, customers, and field sales.
What you’ll tackle- Hands-on diagnostics and repair for Husqvarna Construction’s full equipment line, supporting the Sales team’s commitments to our customers.
- Process and assess customer returns, documenting findings and restoring units to spec.
- Rework or modify inventory equipment to implement updates or corrective actions.
- Collaborate with customers, field sales, and Technical Services to resolve issues and share technical insight.
- High school diploma/equivalent required; additional technical training a plus.
- 5 years in assembly, service, and/or fabrication preferred.
- Comfortable using PCs and iPads for diagnostics, manuals, and documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic blueprints/schematics.
- Basic millwright and inspection capabilities; working knowledge of two- and four-stroke engines and diesel engines.
- Welding experience is advantageous.
- Sound judgment, solid troubleshooting skills, and the ability to partner effectively with internal teams and customers.
- Physical capability to grasp, power grip, pinch, twist/turn with hands and body; lift and carry up to 75 lbs (including overhead); push; climb up/over/under; and reach around/under/over/above shoulder height.
