What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Surveying Internship - Halifax position at Hurt & Proffitt?
Hurt and Proffitt is seeking a Land Surveying Intern to join our team for the summer to learn and assist with various tasks related to land surveying out of our Halifax office . The intern will work under the supervision of experienced surveyors and gain hands-on experience in the field. This position is open to current High School Juniors and Seniors.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting field surveys including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.
- Learn how to operate surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
- Help in collecting, processing, and analyzing survey data.
- Observe the drafting side of survey maps and reports using CAD software.
- Support surveyors in ensuring accuracy and quality control of survey work.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
Qualifications:
- Current High School Junior or Senior.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in the field of land surveying.
