What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Human Resources position at Hurt & Proffitt?
We are seeking a dynamic self-starter to join our team as our Director of Human Resources. This role will play a significant part in helping design the employee experience, and will help us scale our mission, and will work hard to ensure that every person who joins our team feels empowered to do the best work of their lives.
This role will do or be the following:
- Partner with service leaders and executives to align talent strategy with our growth goals.
- Help shape and protect our culture: our DNA.
- Oversee the full recruitment life cycle of our people - from attraction and retention to development of future leaders.
- Handle the day-to-day details - benefits, compliance, and employee relations - all with grace, savvy and an employee-centered approach.
- Communicate effectively across all media - electronically, verbally, etc.
- Proactively approach leader and/or employee concerns by having their "finger on the pulse."
The ideal candidate will:
- Lead with empathy, without shying away from tough or candid conversations required for growth.
- Use metrics to spot trends, but rely on intuition and relationships to solve problems.
- Thrive in the "gray area" - with the understanding that there are multiple ways to apporach any opportunity.
- Be self-driven, and committed to honoring the stories in us all.
- Have 12 to 15 years' experience in people functions, including talent development.
We ideally prefer candidates with an undergraduate degree in business or human resources, but we will consider experience in lieu of education. This role will necessarily visit our various geographic locations, so some regional travel may be expected. This role reports directly to our Chief Financial Officer.
