What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Analytics Engineer position at Hurrdat?
Job Title: Senior Analytics Engineer
FLSA Status: Exempt
Hours: Full-Time
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
About Hurrdat:
Hurrdat is a vertically integrated business ecosystem spanning marketing, media, technology, sports, and apparel, headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. Our marketing division serves enterprise clients across industries including real estate, healthcare, and storage, managing large-scale digital platforms, paid media programs, and data infrastructure that drives measurable business outcomes.
We are building out a dedicated data and analytics function to support a major enterprise platform initiative launching in 2027. This role is central to that effort.
About the role:
We are hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure powering a large-scale enterprise platform serving hundreds of communities and millions of users annually. This is not a reporting-only role. You will own the full lifecycle -- from source ingestion and pipeline architecture through transformation, modeling, and stakeholder-facing analytics.
You will work closely with engineering, product, marketing operations, and client stakeholders to ensure data flows cleanly, models are reliable, and reporting is actionable. The platform operates at the intersection of digital marketing performance, CRM/lead lifecycle, and operational analytics, so the ability to connect business context to technical execution is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
-
Architect and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from marketing platforms, CRM systems, web analytics, and third-party APIs into a centralized data warehouse
-
Build and optimize data models in Snowflake that support cross-functional reporting, lead attribution, and operational dashboards
-
Design and manage event tracking and data collection infrastructure using tools like Segment
-
Develop and maintain reporting layers in Sigma (or similar BI tooling) for internal teams and client stakeholders
-
Establish data governance standards including documentation, testing, version control, and access management
-
Partner with engineering and product teams to define data contracts and ensure upstream system changes do not break downstream reporting
-
Support marketing operations with analytics that tie campaign performance to business outcomes (lead volume, conversion, cost per acquisition)
-
Identify and resolve data quality issues proactively -- build monitoring and alerting where needed
-
Contribute to the long-term data strategy, including evaluation of new tools, consolidation of legacy systems, and scalability planning
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required
-
7 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related data platform role
-
Strong SQL skills -- you write production-quality queries, not just ad hoc pulls
-
Hands-on experience with Snowflake (or comparable cloud data warehouse: BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks)
-
Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, or custom Python-based workflows
-
Familiarity with at least one BI/reporting platform (Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
-
Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product, or marketing teams in an enterprise environment
-
Ability to translate business requirements into data models, pipeline logic, and reporting structures
-
Comfort with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices applied to data workflows
Preferred
-
Experience with Segment, Snowplow, or similar event collection/CDP platforms
-
Exposure to marketing analytics (Google Ads, GA4, CRM lifecycle, lead attribution)
-
Experience with data governance or compliance frameworks (HIPAA, PII/PHI handling, RBAC)
-
Familiarity with API integrations and webhook-based data ingestion
-
Experience managing or mentoring junior analysts or engineers
-
Background in real estate, healthcare, SaaS, or multi-location business models
Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment background check.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
-
Work is normally performed in a typical office environment.

This is not a maintenance job on existing dashboards. You are building the data foundation for a platform that will serve a national enterprise client across hundreds of locations. The work is high-visibility, high-impact, and directly tied to business outcomes your stakeholders care about.
You will have real ownership of the architecture, tooling decisions, and reporting strategy. The team is lean, the expectations are high, and the opportunity to shape something from the ground up is real.
