Job Title: Head Football Coach

Reports To: Athletic Director / Building Principal

Contracted Days: 190

 

Job Summary: The Head Football Coach will organize, coordinate, and promote a comprehensive football program designed to meet the needs and interests of the school community. Additionally, the Head Football Coach will coordinate athletic programs in specified sports.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Plan, organize, and implement the teaching of fundamentals, strategies, rules, and proper conditioning of the game.
  • Ensure the safety of participants by inspecting facilities and equipment and being aware of environmental conditions.
  • Develop a public relations program to keep the public informed of the accomplishments and endeavors of the football program.
  • Ensure compliance with all Arkansas Athletics Association (AAA) rules and regulations.
  • Assist the Athletic Director in making football and other sports schedules and in preparing weekly game reports.
  • Make regular grade checks on all football players.
  • Plan and coordinate athletic awards banquets.
  • Assume responsibility for the behavior of football players while involved in the football program.
  • Secure game officials for varsity home games
  • Communicate with students, staff, faculty, parents, and the public, sharing information about the football program and encouraging student participation in various campus activities.
  • Utilize and maintain football equipment.
  • Communicate with campus administration and Athletic Department on hiring of all assistant coaches.
  • Assign, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the work of assistant football coaches.
  • All responsibilities are in addition to their regular duties as a classroom teacher.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

 

  • Valid Arkansas teaching license or ability to obtain one preferred.
  • Coaching experience in football at the high school level or above.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
