Position: Part‑Time Math Teacher / Tutor
This is a short‑term (approximately 4‑month) assignment in a local school district, working with small groups of students in grades 5–8.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Hours: Approximately 6–8 hours per week
Huntington provides the curriculum, lesson plans, and grading—you focus on what you do best: teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted math instruction to students in grades 5–8 using Huntington's materials and methods
- Review and correct student work (answer keys provided)
- Monitor student progress and communicate any concerns or suggested program adjustments to the center/school supervisor
- Participate in scheduled (paid) teacher meetings and trainings
- Accurately follow sign‑in / sign‑out procedures for all students
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree (Education, Math, or related field preferred)
- Strong command of middle school math content
- Clear, professional oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills for simple documentation and communication
- Ability to commit to a consistent part‑time after‑school schedule in the school district
- Genuine interest in helping students build skills, confidence, and academic success
