Job Summary

Administers respiratory therapy care and life support to residents with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system, under supervision of a physician and by prescription. May provide support to more than one center on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct respiratory assessments for new admissions within 24–48 hours to identify respiratory needs and document findings appropriately

· Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized respiratory care

plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team

· Participate in care plan meetings and team discussions regarding resident respiratory status, treatment goals, and discharge planning

· Set up, operate, and monitor respiratory equipment including ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, aerosol therapy devices, and related apparatus

· Administer respiratory treatments, perform bronchopulmonary hygiene, and assist residents with breathing exercises as indicated

· Monitor residents’ physiological responses to respiratory therapy and ensure proper functioning of equipment

· Coordinate respiratory equipment, oxygen, supplies, and medications in collaboration with nursing and case management

· Communicate changes in resident condition and consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding adverse reactions or treatment concerns

· Support continuity of respiratory care by collaborating with nursing staff when respiratory coverage is not available

· Assists with CPR and code response training and drills

Requirements

· Credentialed Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program

· Active Respiratory Therapy License in State

· Prior experience in hospital-like setting preferred
