POSITION SUMMARY: The Fitness Attendant is responsible for managing the reception area of the fitness center, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for all members and guests. This role involves greeting members, answering phone calls, assisting with fitness inquiries, scheduling fitness appointments and classes, checking members in and out of the system, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and organized fitness center environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Greet all members and guests with enthusiasm and warmth, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Answer phones promptly and professionally, assisting with inquiries about fitness services, programs, and class schedules.
- Accurately schedule fitness appointments, personal training sessions, and classes using the computer system.
- Check members in and out of the fitness system (NorthStar or equivalent), ensuring accurate records and billing.
- Process payments for services and memberships, ensuring proper point-of-sale handling.
- Handle member concerns and requests in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked reception area and fitness center environment.
- Work collaboratively with the fitness team and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Refrain from discussing company or personal matters with guests or members.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and sanitation protocols within the fitness facility.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar front desk or customer service role, preferably in a fitness center, private club, hotel, or resort setting.

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of fitness management software (e.g., NorthStar) is a plus.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle a variety of administrative tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and follow written, oral, and diagrammed instructions.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 20 lbs.
- Frequent reaching, bending, turning, and stooping
- Must be able to sit for extended periods
- Repetitive motion required including computer entry
- Normal vision and hearing ranges required
- All employees are required to maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. (Specific grooming standards are available.)
- Nails should be maintained in clean condition.
- Hair must be neat and tidy.
- Perfume or strong scents should be avoided to maintain a neutral environment
